The painter Rudolf Láng was born in 1904 in Nagyszénás. He studied painting at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. His masters were János Vaszary and István Szőnyi. Between 1924 and 1928 he attended I'Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence. From 1935 he regularly exhibited his works at the Szinney Merse Association and the National Saloon at the exhibitions of the Munkácsi Guild, in 1937 he even got a prize for his painting Amazon - today it belongs to thecollection of the National Gallery. His first collected exhibition ws in 1948 in the National Saloon which was already called Art Gallery (Művész Galéria). From 1949 he worked in the scene paintings of the National Gallery and from 1952 he was a costume designer at the Comedy Theatre of Budapest (Vígszínház) for 20 years. 160 pieces of his costume designs are kept at the Széchenyi Library.
