The Jászi Gallery at the Melange Series
These days we are far more reticent, ironic and austere . We simply choose not show our emotions. We tend to envy those artists whom through their beliefs, talent and undauntedness state that the world can be changed. This is, in the least, something to ponder. Whether it is important to voice our fears or lament at all. They say that hope hides within monstrosity. Perhaps we are already beyond this verge. We now reflect on Lajos Szalay’s best drawings and Béla Kondor’s best etchings.
The exhibit appropriately named Apocalypse is a collaboration of two of the 20th century’s most prominent Hungarian artists. Béla Kondor’s and Lajos Szalay’s thematically based work in which a total of 46 pieces will be shown . A total of 20 Béla Kondor etchings and several dozen Lajos Szalay tint-drawings will be on display. This will be the third showing of Szalay’s work at our gallery. This collection of Szalay’s work is one of the largest and most important as we continue to strive to emphasise the importance of his work.
The Apocalypse exhibit is a display of two significant Hungarian artist whose common experiences happen to meet at the same road.
We are delighted to invite you to this event!
